This book is much better than any so called travelers books ( Rick Steves You are there too). It’s easy to navigate and hence comprehend.The phrases in it are designed to converse with the Italians on respectful level w/ o ogly american biases and demands. As for errors- it’s hard for me to judge yet, but I am fluent in other languages and found fewer gaffes in DK language books than in any others.
I took Spanish in High School for about 4 years and this is a great review! I'm trying to re-learn Spanish for communicating with my boyfriends family and for when we travel. The guide is clear, fun and easy to use. I love the 15 minute series and have it in French as well that we had to get for a college course. These are great books!
This reference volume is great for learning "travel" French. The dictionary in the back provides a good tool for emergencies, and reviews at the end of each section plus mock conversations help develop speaking skills. My favorite feature, especially for French, is the pronunciation guides after each word. This is a great resource!
I first bought the 15 minute French at Half-price books before I traveled to France. It was so helpful to me in using basic french. Of Course I was not fluent, but was able to understand some of the words spoken to me by natives, and I was able to communicate enough to get around. I was so confident that when I planned my trip to Rome, Italy I knew I had to buy this as well.You won't become fluent, but you will be able to pronounce the words you do learn pretty fluently.
The app that goes along with the book was easy to download and use. I highly recommend it
This product is a good way to brush up your French and give you useful phrases for a visit to the country. Note that this product comes in two different packages. Both include the book but one includes two CD's. If you want the CD's, which help with pronunciation, make sure the package being offered contains them as it is not included in most sales of this item. The French are appreciative of anyone who attempts to speak their language and ones reception is notably enhanced by trying. This is a good way to be able to fulfill that condition.
Good CD book but I did not realize the book is needed as much as it is because I listen to my books while I drive.
It was great....better than expected. The "book " technically came with 2 cd's....they were never offered and not expected, but it was in great condition.
